Class 6H

Summer Term - 2017

Welcome to the Spring term at Castle Hills and the Year 6 team hope you had a fantastic new year. The Spring term is vitally important for all pupils in Year 6. Their examination preparations begin to pick up pace with an increased focus on maths, English and reading techniques. In maths we will be focussing on fractions, decimals and percentages and how these will be used in real life situations. We will also look at ratio, proportion, shape, area and an introduction to algebra. In English our writing will be based around two brilliant modern classics- Holes by Louis Sachar and Skellig by David Almond.

It is not all work in Year 6 though as we have lots to look forward to. Our trip to London. Children will also have the opportunity to start researching their end of year production in preparation for the Summer term.

We thank you for your continued support in your child’s learning, if you have any questions or concerns, we have an open door policy for you to speak with your child’s teacher or any other member of staff.
