Class 6H

Spring Term - 2019

Welcome back for the spring term.

We hope that you have had a peaceful, restful and enjoyable Christmas, and feel refreshed for new challenges ahead. Over the coming term, Year 6 will be focusing on the Second World War, including the main events, why the war started, and most importantly, those whose lives were affected. In maths, children will continue to study fractions, decimals and percentages, including how these relate to everyday life. They will solve problems using money, weight, distance and capacity, before moving on to look at area and perimeter. In science, children will study light and light sources, relating this to the structure of the eye and how we see things.

In March, Year 6 will be visiting Crucial Crew, a purpose built set (think Coronation Street), where they will learn about fire, street and internet safety, along with first aid in preparation for becoming more independent in the transition to secondary school.

It will be a very busy but equally enjoyable term for the children and I am sure that they will rise to the challenges set before them.
